Hospital Staff Meeting in Goddamn 2025

Nobody knows what's happening

(In addition to my writing and advocacy, I also work at a psychiatric hospital during a very weird time for healthcare.)

Nurse Practitioner: What does the CDC have to say about COVID protocols now? It seems like we’re isolating folks for longer than we did in the early days.

Social worker: Well, we won’t have a CDC for much longer. Also, measles is coming east whether we like it or not.

Doctor: You’re always a ray of sunshine.

Social worker: (shrugs) But don’t worry, Robert Kennedy says the answer to measles is Vitamin A and cod liver oil.

Everyone in the room: (Raises their heads in an “Ahhhh” fashion, like this is very interesting and medically sound information).

Nurse 1: My dog takes cod liver oil!

Nurse 2: For what?

Nurse 1: Mainly his joints. They also say it’s good for his fur. It smells disgusting.

Nurse 3: Well, at least we’ll all have healthy coats by summer.
